The below Apps will send us both up to $5 no questions asked. Details below:
CashApp: $KarmaPoet Use this link and we both get $5: I began with CashApp years ago. At the time, it was something I would use to quickly and conveniently exchange funds with family, loved ones, and friends. Later, I used it for Bitcoin, but that did not work out initially (bad timing I guess - I've since moved on to another app for that). These days, I still use CashApp to move money between folks who are close to me but also use it at least as much for fractional investing (where you buy stocks using dollar amounts of your choice rather than full shares - for example, you can buy $5 worth of Google or Amazon rather than a full share). I picked 3 of my favorite stocks and setup CashApp to invest a fixed amount in each one every day. Instead of doing that, you could use it to invest as a onetime purchase, weekly, or every two weeks. If you're new to investing (and please note that I am not a professional investment/financial advisor), I would go with something simple like VOO - the Vanguard S&P index, which somewhat averages the stock market. That's perhaps the safest ride, so far as long-term stock holdings go.
Use this link and we both get $5. I began with Acorns in November 2019. I wanted something that helped out by automatically saving my change, the point was to have the app round up my purchases and automatically save money in an account. For example, if I spent 3.48 at any store, Acorns would take 52 cents (i.e., they would round 3.48 to $4 and save the change, $4 - $3.48 = 0.52) from a bank account of my choice. As the money began to accumulate, I decided to allow Acorns to take 10 times the change from my account. So in the previous example, they would save $5.20 for me. Today, there's enough in that account alone to get me out of a jam if life happens to go left for a month or two. Note: It is a good idea to make sure you keep enough money in your bank account for the round-ups, but still, Acorns usually won't try to move funds if they see they are not in your account.
Use this link and we both get a free share of stock. I started with Robinhood in April 2019. I was late to find out about this app that allowed commission free trades. At the time, my only trading account was with Etrade (which I also still use). They charged about $7 per trade, which doesn't sound like much, but believe me that cost would add up! My time with Robinhood has been good. There were a couple of days where a glitch did not allow trades as quickly as usual, but in the grand scheme of things, that was a non-issue. If you're new to investing, remember not to invest any amount you are not willing to put at stake (lose). Go slowly. It has worked out well for me. In addition to Robinhood, and Etrade, I also have a WeBull investment account. WeBull will give us both stock also, but I believe you would have to deposit something into your account first. In the above three options, we both get initial assets free when you open the account.
